New to bird feeding - had a nest of robins nearby and wanted to give the mama a little help. We also have a cat who enjoys watching birds that nest in a tree outside of our den. I researched and learned robins are ground feeders. I wanted a ground bird feeder that was easy to move around, easy to clean and was squirrel proof. This feeder fit the bill. The birds seemed apprehensive approaching the feeder with the cage on, so I took it off. After two days without the cage, we had all sorts of birds visiting. Turns out the cage wasn’t really necessary because the birds eat everything before the squirrels can get to it. The feeder is very easy to keep clean - just soap it up with Dawn dish soap using a brush and give it a good rinse. By morning it’s dry and ready to be filled again. I would definitely buy this feeder again!

I have had many bird feeders over the years and loved adding this squirrel proof tray feeder recently for the smaller birds. It is very sturdy and seems well built. I have honestly never come across one like it so wasn’t sure if the birds would go thru the cage to get the seeds but they absolutely did the first day I put it out. Chickadees, Titmice, and finches love it and so far after a week no squirrels or larger birds bother it. It is particularly fun to see the smaller birds get their seeds when the other feeders are overwhelmed with bigger birds or bully house sparrows. My thanks and congratulations to Kingsyard for their excellent design and quality of this feeder!Note added January 2024- With some freezing temps and precipitation I decided to put this feeder under a small table on my deck recently to protect the seeds and birds from the elements. Had a delightful surprise recently to discover the cardinals (along with the small birds) have also figured this feeder out! They do not fly in and out quite as fast as the little ones but it is remarkable to see even a fairly plump male get through the cage when he’s hungry enough. We have plenty of squirrels however so far they have only occasionally climbed over or around it and then leave it alone. Very happy with this feeder!!

I absolutely love this bird feeder, it is strong and well-made, and looks great... Only one big issue, squirrels ARE able to wiggle in thru some of the cage holes in a row that are larger than 1.5 inches. Can the cage be produced with truly 1.5-inch (or smaller) openings? I love my bluebirds and other med-small birds that visit it, but the squirrels will get in and just sit there eating lots of bird food and discouraging the birds!I have it attached to my outside deck top railing, with a tough elastic bungee cord wrapped around it and the deck railing. I have an experiment in progress to rope off the larger openings to truly keep squirrels out. Fingers crossed this works! If so, I may buy another.

This feeder is well made and functions nicely to provide food for the smaller species of birds. We have some doves that just love to come in and clean out all the good food and nothing is left for the other birds. It’s funny to watch them sit on top of the wire protector and look at the food and try to figure out how to get to it. They can’t! We actually converted ours into a feeder that hangs from a line that we have strung from the house to a tree. It is excellent and I am very pleased that we have purchased this product.

Constructed well but using screws to open is lame. The real problem that I failed to anticipate is that the deer that have an out of control excess population in my area ruin the use of this feeder which the small birds love. The deer flip it over and kick it around to dump the seed.

Really pleased with this feeder. It was extremely easy to set up and it’s also easy to take the top grill off to refill or to clean the bottom. It immediately kept out the squirrels and crows, while the smaller birds (bluebirds and smaller) hop in and out.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:It didn’t work like described, the squirrels tipped it over immediately,, not satisfied,

The media could not be loaded. It definitely keeps the larger birds out. Some of them may be able to stick their head in to grab a seed or two. Depending on how high you make the seeds. It took the birds a little bit to feel comfortable, but now they are hopping in and out all the time. My cardinals love it ! The blue jays and doves hate it! I like that it has the option to put it up higher when you use the feet no no no
