PLEASE NOTE : - Diameter of sisal rope is measured when under tension during the the manufacturing process, so it may arrive larger than the stated diameter. If drilling holes, give a generous tolerance to allow for this. Sisal rope will shrink when wet and lengthen as it dries, so please leave loops between post.

and the cats seem pleased with the result
I used this to renew a cat scratching post that had been obliterated. I attached it with a hot glue gun, and the cats seem pleased with the result.
