These are crunchy and delicious.
We like the taste of these water chestnuts. I put them in my homemade vegetable soup as well as in Asian stir fry veggies.

Mung bean sprouts. In a can. Good stuff.
If you have a recipe that calls for bean sprouts... well, here you go. These are good, but only if you like bean sprouts. They are thick and juicy. NOT thin or hairy like alfalfa or broccoli sprouts. Great for Asian stir-fry, or use them raw in salads. Also good for Halloween parties, put them in a bowl and pretend they're worms or intestines or something like that.Fun fact: these are MUNG BEANS that have been allowed to sprout.

How much I can say about bean sprouts (?)
I need to have cans of these La Choy bean sprouts in my pantry & being able to buy a 12-pack is great. I miss my hometown chow mein & these are a staple item I add when I get the urge to make my dish. Not like OTHER brands, the La Choy sprouts aren't all broken up & mushy when you open the can. The sodium is doable & I drain the liquid to use in the gravy for more flavor. Plenty of sprouts in a can for a meal for 4. The price is right, & the product is good, so it's a win-win for me.

Good buy
These water chestnuts are fresh, crispy, and good. Not the very best flavor I've had, but 4 out of 5 is pretty acceptable. Of course, they mostly pick up the flavors and seasoning of the dish they go into.

Fantastic to have on hand
Yes, homegrown, fresh sprouts are better for most dishes. But having what seems to be the last American grown canned beansprouts on hand is very convenient, and in dishes such as egg foo young, where the frying softens fresh beans anyway, they are an excellent substitute for fresh. They also work great for old-school homemade chop suey.Just be sure to add them last thing in stir-fry dishes, otherwise they overcook.Sad to see these are harder and harder to find in local grocery stores. Glad to find them on Amazon.
