After 9 years in our home, we finally purchased and installed this floor socket! We are very handy (much of the construction on our home was done by us), but this took about 3 hours to install. It's likely because we are sticklers for fit and finish and had to recut the hole several times to get it just right. If you are quick to cut a hole and get the size right the first time, I'm sure it would go more quickly! Overall, we love it!

My electrician wouldn’t install it due to it not being UL listed. Too bad he didn’t tell me before the return window closed. Also no instructions.

My husband is an electrician and we were having our floors redone (the key factors to my positive review).You cut pieces of your own floor to put in the top of the insert so it flows perfect. It is flush with the floor and offers many options to livingroom/bedroom layouts. There is a groove that collects dirt and is a bit of a pain to clean but well worth it for the look when finished. I imagine there are easier install options but I love the look of this when done

Great product for our busy family room. Very functional and sturdy.Think about:-What material to fill the cover plate-Install flush with floor (cuts in floor must be clean and exact)-install a bit above the floor and trim it out

Box seems well-constructed, but knockouts for wiring are not trade size. Once knocked out, a 1/2" push-in romex connector falls right through the hole, but a 3/4" push-in will not fit. Had to use a drill to open up the hole in order to fit the 3/4" romex connector. Definitely not a "drop-in" item.

Stainless floor box well constructed Will be perfect for home office remodel with desk in center of room. eliminating cords or tethered next to wall receptacles also able to have data hard line cant go wrong. awesome value compared to like items. Probably better built. Easy to recommend.

The outlet is kind of cheap and has a non-standard wire mount that screws tight instead of having lugs or press-in. There are also brackets that attach the whole thing to the underside of a wood floor which are not shown despite being critical for installation. Otherwise, looks great when installed correctly. Instructions are obviously awful and Chinese. It even includes instructions on the back about how to wire an Ethernet connection!

Returned. Apparently not UL approved. My electrician would not install. Seems it is only designed to be imbedded in cement, and not suitable for wooden, post and beam floor installations.
